Hi - I'm still looking for one or two tickets for this. Apparently Sadies has sold his tickets. Initially I was just looking for myself but when I saw his message I asked a punk rock loving friend who happens to live near Kilburn and he's pretty keen to go now too

It's really cool they play such a small intimate London show so soon after the Garage but somehow I wish they'd play a slightly bigger venue, I didn't hear about it before it sold out and I can't go to the festival on Sunday. If I don't hear anything I'll still be outside the venue, hopefully there'll be a way to get in, maybe they'll have some tickets on the door, anyone know? The Garage show recently was sooooo much fun, it was the first time I've seen them since.... 1983! (I've kinda rediscovered them recently and have now bought most of the recent compilations and reissues and play this stuff all the time!)

hyp- i'm hypnotised x :geek:

Hi lynshroom

You may want to put a note out on the other tones board...

LAST NIGHT - Powers' Bar show in Kilburn, London

Last night.

Smallest stage for a 5 piece band ever! They were knocking into each other, and at one stage Paul whacked his hand on a guitar.
They had microphone and feedback issues, but I thought it was an electric performance.
Paul did seem to get annoyed with the microphone at some stage, and certainly seemed to take it out on the mic and stand, but it just made him put more drive into his vocals.

here is an example of THRILL ME from last night (found on YouTube)...

Great gig at Power’s Bar on Friday night.
Small, hot and sweaty venue.
Very small stage.
Belter of a set from the band.
Great to meet up with everybody again.

First 5 pics are from soundcheck.

On Saturday I went to the Feis Festival at Finsbury Park.
Band were on at about 1350 for about 40 minutes.
I didn’t pay the £70 to get in as I would have had only enough time to see the band and then I had to dash back to Victoria Station to get coach home.
I settled for a good vantage point outside the fence and listened to a really great set by the band, sound was great, but I couldn’t see them from where I was though.
Prior to the band coming on it was raining, but all the time they played the sun was shining !!!!!! What else would you expect?

Festival setlist as follows;

Family Entertainment - Girls Don’t Like It
Male Model - Gotta Getta
Wrong Way - Jump Boys
Here Comes The Summer - Billy’s Third
Jimmy Jimmy - True Confessions
Runaround - I Know A Girl
Listening In - Teenage Kicks
Thrill Me - You’ve Got My Number
My Perfect Cousin - Get Over You

Went to Powers gig Friday, absolutely brilliant show. Packed venue and minute stage, but the band were on top form.

Good to meet up with Hawk and Cliff and others.
