.net Randomness

Time for me to have a go at resurrecting the spirit of the .net site’s tradition of random, eclectic and (occasionally) erudite postings.
I was in Derry a few weeks ago for Joanne & Andy’s baby naming party and ended up spending the evening drinking with John & Paul (no sign of Ringo though  ). The Fall came up in conversation - John is a mega fan and urged me to get the 50,000 Fall Fans Can't Be Wrong: 39 Golden Greats double CD, which I did and have to admit to have been pleasantly surprised at the range and development of the music over the years (I had gone off them circa 1979 after hearing Rowche Rumble on Peel).

Mentioning the Fall and Peel- anyone else remember seeing Mickey and Mark E Smith on Newsnight just after John Peel died and Mark E’s bizarre ramblings? See YouTube clip

Mentioning Paul (spot the pattern yet?) in case you aren’t aware, he has a weekly evening radio show (Mon- Thurs) Today FM which you can listen to online.

Mentioning radio shows- some "viewers" may not know that Mickey has a radio show too, on Thurs nights (Fri mornings to be completely accurate) which has a Listen Again facility (not sure if the Johnny Foreigner listeners will be able to access it though)

Mentioning Johnny Foreigner, you may not have seen the TV ads that John Lydon has being doing. Personally I think he pulls it off well and retains his credibility (whatever that means!).

Thanks for all this Wayne - good stuff. I was aware of 'After Midnight with Mickey' but had no idea about Paul's show.
